When striping a panel such as this fender it is important to steer clear of the edges And peaks when using a mechanical striping tool like a high speed grinder. The body side peak(black arrow),the transition peak(green arrow) and the wheel opening edge(red arrow) are all vulnerable to fast deterioration and should be striped by chemical or sanded by hand or with a orbital sander like the DA or jitterbug.

When striping a large flat area like the top of this fender I recomend the use of a chemical striper as these areas are vulnerable to heat warp. Hoods, roofs and trunk lids are EXTREAMLY vulnerable panels and should all ways be striped with care.You can test the area to be striped by depressing the center of the area to be striped(away from edges or boby lines) with your thumb, if it gives with minimal presure it is probably a vulnerable area.
